Logical and Reasoning Ability (25 questions, 50 marks): This section covers topics like identifying similarities and differences, spatial visualization, problem-solving, judgment, visual memory, discrimination, observation, arithmetic reasoning, and classification of figures and numbers. It also includes understanding patterns, coding and decoding, drawing inferences, and critical thinking.
General Awareness (25 questions, 50 marks): This part assesses knowledge of current events and scientific principles, as well as understanding of historical, cultural, geographical, and economic aspects of India and neighboring countries. It also includes questions related to the Indian Constitution and general scientific research.
Quantitative Aptitude (25 questions, 50 marks): This section involves topics such as the number system, percentages, ratios, averages, profit and loss, time and distance, geometry, trigonometry, algebraic equations, and graphical representations like histograms and pie charts.
English Comprehension (25 questions, 50 marks): This section evaluates candidates’ ability to understand and use correct English. It assesses basic comprehension and writing skills.

Both Paper I and Paper II are mandatory for all candidates. However, Paper III is only for those applying for the Junior Statistical Officer, and Paper IV is only for those applying for the Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer.
Paper I Quantitative Aptitude (100 questions, 200 marks): This section covers topics such as the number system, percentages, ratios, averages, geometry, trigonometry, algebraic equations, and graphical representations like histograms and pie charts.
Paper II English Language and Comprehension (200 questions, 200 marks): This section assesses candidates’ understanding and proficiency in the English language. It includes questions on identifying errors, completing sentences, finding synonyms and antonyms, spelling, idiomatic expressions, substitution of words, sentence improvement, verb voice, narration, rearranging sentences, cloze passages, and comprehension passages.
Paper III Statistics (100 questions, 200 marks): This section covers topics such as data collection, classification, and presentation, measures of central tendency and dispersion, correlation and regression, probability theory, random variables, sampling, statistical inference, analysis of variance, time series analysis, and index numbers.
Paper IV General Studies Finance and Economics (100 questions, 200 marks):
Part A: This part focuses on fundamental accounting concepts.
Part B: This part covers topics related to economics and governance, including the role and responsibilities of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, constitutional provisions, functions of the Finance Commission, basic economic concepts, microeconomics, demand and supply theory, production and cost theory, market forms, price determination, Indian economy, economic reforms, banking, and the role of information technology in governance.

Tier III Examination Details:
The Tier III will be a written test conducted with pen and paper, and candidates can choose to write in either English or Hindi. It will have a maximum score of 100 and a time limit of 60 minutes.
Tier IV Examination Details:
For the position of Tax Assistant, there will be a Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) conducted on a computer. Candidates must achieve a typing speed of 8000 key depressions per hour within 15 minutes. This test is mandatory but only serves as a qualifying assessment.
Furthermore, candidates will need to take a Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) which includes three parts: word processing, spreadsheets, and slide creation. Passing this test is also required.

The selection process for SSC CGL 2023 will be based on the performance in Tier-I, Tier-II, Tier-III, and Tier-IV examinations.
