CSIR NET 2024 Educational Qualification
- Possession of a Master’s degree or equivalent in the relevant subject with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD candidates).
- Enrollment in MSc or equivalent programs, or Result Awaited (RA) category applicants, are also eligible.
- Bachelor’s degree holders can apply for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) only, excluding Lectureship (LS)/Assistant Professor positions.
Age Limit
- For JRF: Maximum age limit of 28 years with relaxations for specified categories.
- For LS/Assistant Professor: No upper age limit.
Exam Date and Shifts
CSIR NET exam will be conducted at all the examination centers in the country. The exam dates are 25, 26 and 27 June 2024. The examination will be conducted in two shifts, from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon and from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
Application Fee
Candidates must remit the requisite application fee to complete the CSIR NET 2024 application process. The fee structure varies based on categories:
- General: INR 1,100
- OBC: INR 550
- SC/ST: INR 275
- PwD: No fee
Exam Pattern
- Exam Mode: Computer-Based Test
- Duration: 180 minutes
- Sections:
- Part A: Common to all subjects (30 marks)
- Part B & C: Subject-specific (Each part carries 100 marks)
- Total Questions: 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) in total

CSIR NET exam application process is started on 1st May 2024. And remains active only till 21 May 2024. To apply for CSIR, candidates have to visit its official website and fill the exact details. Attaching requisite documents including recent photograph and signature. Fees have to be paid within the prescribed time limit and it is mandatory to fulfill all the requirements.
